Tashka Alyssa Koromov is a recent immigrant, a bright young deyvachka from lands far north, so far north the sun doesn't know enough to go to sleep for half the year. From beyond the cold snows she heard of a city where the streets were paved with gold, skyscrapers piecred the night sky and so many kiwis that they would stack many times higher than a Tashka.

Which in truth isn't very hard, she being a small mouse after all ...

A small construction mouse, her normal stock and trade being picking steel hundreds of feet in the air ... or parking a backhoe on a dime.

But there are times when the construction trade is slow, evenings when the stars shine and sparkle so high in the sky. And it is on such quiet nights, beneath the soft moonlight, that a small grey field mouse brings out her treasured bailalaika, to weave a melody, a song remembering what has passed her way.

first night
A gentle and quiet ballad, reflecting upon a malin'kiy mouse's first night in a far away place called Supermegatopia.

wasting away in supermegatopia
A slow day, a long day, an average every day day in the kiwi capital of the world, down the shore, shades perched upon a pert little nose, a shirley temple with a small umbrella in a tall glass next to a gray mouse in a beachside cabana chair.

nesbit's mean
Life does get interesting when your next door neighbor is a deranged raccoon with a mad doctorate in science.
